Aromas of sweet spice, black cherries and plum with subtle hints of cedar and rustic leather. The palate pleases with soft, juicy tannins which are well balanced to offer all-round balance and finesse with a lingering finish.
The Malbec grapes are sourced from a Groenberg vineyard facing southwest and ripens early in the season. The Merlot grapes are grown on Doolhof from one of the first vineyards established on the farm. All the grapes are hand-harvested and undergo a bunch sorting process before being crushed into stainless steel for fermentation at 24-27 degrees. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally after which the wines are aged in older French oak barrels for 12 months. Bottled November 2022. Drink up to 2026.
